Millis Training Institute (MTI) provides quality truck driver training at an affordable cost.  Students at MTI receiving training divided into a week of classroom instruction, a week of backing maneuvers and skills practice and a week of on the road driving with an instructor.  Small class sizes of six students per instructor allow for a more personalized experience.  After the class is complete, students may have the opportunity to accept a position working for Millis Transfer.

Millis Training Institute training facilities are located in five convenient locations:  Hamilton, Ohio; Cartersville, Georgia; Richfield, Wisconsin; Burleson, Texas and Eden, North Carolina.  Classes are held Monday through Friday for a total of 166 hours.

We Pay Trainees The Same As One-Year Drivers

NEW FOR January 1, 2017:  trainees will be paid the same rate as a one-year driver with Millis Transfer.  Trainees will now receive $0.42 per mile for every mile logged with a trainer – so if you average 2500 miles per week like the majority of Millis Transfer drivers, that’s $1,050 in your weekly paycheck! 

GUARANTEED Salary for Trainees

On top of the new cent per mile rate, MTI is also giving our students a guaranteed annual salary of $50,000 for their first year!  We understand that making a career change is a leap of faith and can put a financial strain on you and your family.  To ease your concerns, and demonstrate one of the biggest benefits of having a career in transportation, MTI will ensure your W-2 reflects $50,000 and you achieve 115,000 miles at the end of one year driving for Millis.
